Celebrating the Success of the MAFEELDA Writing Contest

The inaugural MAFEELDA Writing Contest for Gombe South Students in Higher Institutions, organized by our Nigerian partner, Community Life Transformation Ministry (CLTM), was a remarkable success. Praise be to God! On Saturday, July 2, 2022, prizes were presented to the winners at the CLTM office in Billiri, Gombe State, celebrating the students’ hard work and dedication.

Christiana Ishaku Madi, the first-place winner, received a laptop and N10,000 for her outstanding essay. The second-place winner, Kent Kenneth, was awarded N30,000, while the third-place winner, Jonathan David Alewa, received N20,000. Additionally, the other seven top essayists each received N10,000 in recognition of their impressive work.

In April, a call for entries invited eligible individuals to submit a 900 to 1,000-word essay on the topic “How to Develop a Community without Relying on Politicians.” Twenty-one submissions were carefully evaluated by an independent panel of four judges, who selected the top ten essays that best met the criteria.

This successful event was made possible by the generous support of Aaron & Rainy Schneider and Andrew & Amanda Perry. MAFEELDA aims to produce world-class intellectuals and millionaires who will reshape Africa’s intellectual and socio-economic landscape, starting with their communities.
